Their mini splits and central systems are generally solid mid-range equipment with inverter-driven compressors, good cold-weather performance, and straightforward controls. They don’t have the same long-term track record or parts ecosystem as brands like Mitsubishi, but they’re more affordable and hold up well when installed correctly. The biggest issues I see come down to installation quality, not the equipment itself—line set integrity, proper vacuum, and correct sizing matter more than the logo on the unit. I install and service TOSOT systems in situations where the budget doesn’t justify higher-end brands but the homeowner still wants efficient, reliable heating and cooling. I’ve worked on their single-zone and multi-zone mini splits, as well as ducted systems, and they perform consistently when set up right. Maintenance is straightforward, parts availability has improved, and overall they’re a practical option for a lot of homes and light commercial spaces.
